Training
Purpose Driven Youth Ministry – by Doug Fields
I was involved in two months of in-depth study on the five biblical purposes as they relate to student ministry and the church as a whole. We re-packaged the biblical purposes of Evangelism, Discipleship, Worship, Fellowship, and Ministry into our own versions of Tell, Equip, Adore, Meet and Serve. (T.E.A.M.S.) We discovered old principles used in the first church and developed innovative new ways of applying those ideas in our 21 st century student ministry.
SimpleChurch – by Thom S. Rainer and Eric Geiger
I was involved in a month long in-depth study of Simple Church. While reading and digesting this book, we discovered the importance of developing a simple process of discipleship that permeates through the entire ministry. The importance of sharing the same process with the church is paramount, as are the handoffs between each step in the Church’s disciple making process.
Dare 2 Share – by Greg Stier
I attended this evangelism training conference. Through teaching there, as well as follow up resources such as Dare 2 Share: A Field Guide to Sharing Your Faith, Go Wide, G.O.S.P.E.L. Journey, and o thers, I have committed to sharing the Gospel at every seeker-sensitive service I lead. Through leadership training, we learned the necessity of not only going wide with our evangelism efforts, but also of growing our students deeper in their walk with God.
