Hello,

My name is Josh Greenwood. I am 25 years old. I have been married for 7 years and I have twin boys that are currently 2 years old. I currently live in Mesa, AZ where I have been for the past 4 years.

I spent the first 11 years of my life in Texas where I was born. My parents raised me to know the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At age 11 my family moved to North Carolina where I joined a Student Ministry that had an eternal impact on my life. At youth camp one summer I turned my life over to Jesus Christ and was baptized.

A year later I began rebelling against my parents. I spent the next three years of my life trying to prove to everyone around me that I was unworthy of being loved. During that time I met my future wife, Kathy Higgins. We continued to rebel together, getting in a lot of trouble.

At 17 I ran into trouble with the law and decided to stop doing the things that could get me in trouble. I stopped hanging out with the friends in my life that were a bad influence as well. Kathy and I were engaged to be married within a couple of months of turning our lives around and in August of 2000 we had our wedding.

At this point my wife didn’t know Jesus as her lord and savior and I had turned my back on my Christian background. God began pulling on Kathy’s heart to ask me questions about who he was, so every night we would have long talks about the Bible, God and Jesus. It was during one of these conversations that she committed her life to Christ and I rededicated mine.

After three years of marriage we felt God was moving us to leave North Carolina. So we picked up and moved to Arizona without a job, a place to stay or knowing anyone. God provided a church family for us at Spring Of Life Christian Church. Through the teachings and small group at this church we began to put God first in our lives. God provided well for us because of this and we struggled very little financially.

In 2005 our first children were born; a set of beautiful twin boys. Christian and Tyler Greenwood are one of the greatest blessings we have ever received. They have helped me to understand what it means to lead a selfless life. My love for them has also helped me to understand God’s love for me.

In 2006 I felt God really tugging at my heart to start serving Him on a permanent basis. It was less like a tug and more like a strong call on my life. God made it as clear as if He had audibly told me that I was to serve Him and Him alone, full time, for the rest of my life. He provided a place for me to do that at Spring of Life Church. The Student Ministry there was in strong need of a program director that could direct Worship, Video, Drama and technical teams for them.

I have been working for Spring of Life’s Student ministry since March of 2006. I now know that there is no greater calling in life than to be a “fisher of men” and there is no better way to do that than to “build God’s church.” I live my life by this one verse:

“For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

(2 Chronicles 16:9)

I want God’s eyes to stop on me! That is why my life is fully committed to doing God’s work.

Unfortunately, Spring of Life has been suffering financially as of late. In September of this year, in their third round of job cuts, they cut my job out of their budget. I am definitely excited about the future and maybe God is calling me to serve at your church. Please pray about this and feel free to contact me if you would like to know more about me.

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me better.

God bless you,

Josh Greenwood
